Liquorice | Dark Chocolate | Prune | Raisin | Deep & Lingering
Shadow Rider goes where Basejump and Mini-love don't. A medium-dark Brazilian and Colombian blend with a genuine dark side: liquorice, prunes, raisins, and dark chocolate — the kind of profile that espresso drinkers from Melbourne's older café tradition would recognise immediately. For the drinker who finds “bright” and “delicate” insufficiently interesting.

The Story
Terra Dourada from Brazil — a natural-processed lot from Minas Gerais, rich in dried fruit character — pairs with La Constancia from Colombia, which adds the structural clarity and brightness that stops the blend becoming one-dimensional. At medium-dark roast, the fruit compresses: fresh cherry becomes prune and raisin; orange becomes a distant memory behind liquorice and dark chocolate.
This is deliberately a blend for drinkers who want more — more body, more depth, more lingering aftertaste. The name is not metaphorical.
In the Cup
Long black: Liquorice leads, followed by prune and raisin depth. Dark chocolate on the finish. Full-bodied, bold, and long.
Flat white: Dark fruit softens into milk chocolate. Smooth, creamy, and indulgent — the dark character carries through to the last sip.
