About

Artisan Roast dates back to 2010, when we humbly began as the first specialty coffee roasters in Malaysia. And despite the general unfamiliarity with syrupy espresso, we managed to hook many palates and, hence, develop the taste buds of a growing fan base.

We started with the first cafe at Jalan Ampang before moving, shortly after, to 'home' in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Word of mouth soon spread throughout this small residential community and much further afield. Coffee connoisseurs willingly travelled the distance just to enjoy our great coffee. And thanks to their wonderful support as well as their enthusiasm, Artisan Roast is now one of the busiest cafes in the business.

By 2014, opportunities came our way to expand and upgrade our coffee roasting facilities. The Loring Smart Roaster, which we're proud of, was thus housed in our Three Little Birds cafe, while Artisan Roast, name unchanged, remains the icon that it is in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Over the years, we've never stopped pushing boundaries and continue striving to serve aficionados — many whom have become firm friends — with our latest roasting and preparation discoveries. We hope to match their passion for the brew and be among the leading specialty coffee purveyors in Malaysia.

Seniman Kakao is a project by Artisan Roastery and we've been pioneering Malaysian bean-to-bar chocolate since 2016.

Seniman Kakao takes the goodness of cacao grown in Malaysia's rich tropical soil and crafts it into indulgent chocolate that feeds your cravings while being healthy for your body and mind. Our production is complex, but we use simple ingredients.

The cacao we source is full of really good stuff and, thanks to our super coffee roasting skills, we can roast to lower temperatures ensuring that the bountiful benefits of our cacao, from polyphenols to theobromine, remain intact.
