Colombia Luis Anibal Calderon Gesha

In 2011, Luis faced the risk of losing his farm to the bank due to low coffee prices on the market. He sought help from the local Specialty Coffee Association, which offered to pay 15% more than the standard price. Though not a significant reward, this support sustained him and motivated him to explore specialty coffee.

In 2012, Luis planted 5,000 Gesha trees, and after a challenging three-year wait for them to yield fruit, he was fully committed.

By 2015, Luis decided to transition his entire farm to exotic coffee varieties. Today, his farm, Finca Villa Betulia, stands as a shining example of specialty coffee production in Acevedo, Huila. He grows numerous exotic varieties, including Red Gesha, Tabi, Java, Sidra, and many more.
