This factory is a member of the Barichu Cooperative Society and they are well known for being some of those that consistently produce great coffees. The name Karindundu is taken from Kikuyu word meaning ‘the wrapped’, where it refer to infamous history during Kikuyu and Ukabi war.

The soil in this area is rich and volcanic. The factory processes around 300 tonnes of cherry from surrounding farms every year. The nearby spring, Kirigau, supplies fresh water for fermentation of the pulped cherry.
